GLAG Post Reflection

I am from a very rural area in Oregon, the town where everybody knows everything. Introductions seem obsolete, because often times, your neighbor knows something about you before you know something about yourself.

Through the GOALS program, I had the opportunity to learn how to give a proper introduction through the Global Learning in Agriculture (GLAG) workshop. Dr. Alexa Lamm posed a series of questions for us to reflect on, and build a thoughtful,  well planned introduction. My introduction is as follows...

Hello, My name is Jacob Falk. I am a a student at the University of Idaho working to obtain my B.S. in Agricultural Education. Through my studies in general education, plant science, animal science, economics, and shop practices, I strive to share and learn about agriculture.

I  strive to be the best educator possible to share this amazing lifestyle and inspire others to participate in the worlds most important industry. Agriculture is more than a feeding people to me, agriculture is a tradition, a way of life, and most importantly, a way to give back to our global community. When It comes to education, advocacy is the forefront of preserving this important way of life. Education and knowledge gives individuals power to make an impact and inspire change all for the sake of making a better planet. I do this to inspire the future generations of leaders, and cultivate a better future for human kind.

I hope this example may be useful to some of you as it was for me!

Best,

Jacob Falk
