Introduction to Jacob Falk

Hello, my name is Jacob Falk. I am a current Junior at the University of Idaho perusing a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Education. I am originally from a small town in eastern Oregon called  Enterprise. in my youth, I was very active in the 4-H and FFA programs. In 4-H, I was involved in national leadership, civic engagement programs, dog showing, and archery. In FFA I was a district and chapter officer, chairmen of the parliamentary procedure team, I participated in ag sales, soils, mechanics, weed and crop ID, and livestock breeding.

At the beginning of the fall semester, I embarked on a journey that would develop me as an educator, and grow my awryness as a global citizen, I enrolled in the GOALs program. In this blog, I will be posting my experiences and the amazing opportunities I have been blessed with, as well as reflecting on the good and bad experiences, and things I would have changed during my time in the GOALs program.

So far, I have had the opportunity to attend the World food prize in Des Moines, Iowa. This was an extravagant experience where I was able to learn about global citizenship, agriculture and culture around the world, as well as interact with amazing educators from across the globe. This opportunity posed me to ask the question of how I, a young man from the middle of nowhere, will play my part in global agriculture.

Regards,

Jacob Falk
